Iranian President Confirms Stance on Nuclear Program
(MENAFN) Iranian Leader Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed on Wednesday that his nation remains steadfast in the face of what he called “American arrogance” concerning its nuclear ambitions.
In a statement given to an official news outlet, Pezeshkian confirmed that discussions with both the United States and European countries regarding Iran’s nuclear dossier are continuing.
He made clear that these dialogues are proceeding in accordance with directives issued by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
“We will not bow to arrogance,” Pezeshkian stated, stressing that Iran would never agree to abandon its nuclear research only to depend on external approval for access to essential nuclear resources used in fields such as medicine, agriculture, science, and industry.
Challenging American pressure to cease uranium enrichment and dismantle Iran’s nuclear capabilities, the president responded defiantly: “Who said we need permission to conduct scientific research? Who are they to demand we dismantle our entire nuclear industry?”
Meanwhile, U.S. Leader Donald Trump expressed growing doubt about the prospects of finalizing a nuclear agreement with Iran.
“They seem to be delaying, and I think that’s a shame,” Trump remarked, adding, “I’m less confident now than I would have been a couple of months ago.”
When questioned about his ability to convince Iran to abandon its nuclear plans, Trump admitted uncertainty, saying, “I don’t know.” Regardless of any potential accord, he concluded firmly that Iran is "not going to have a nuclear weapon.”
