DEC Announces Temporary Closure of Motor Vehicle Access Road at Turkey Point State Forest
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today announced the temporary closure of the motor vehicle access road at Turkey Point State Forest in the Town of Saugerties, Ulster County, due to flood damage. The road will remain closed to motor vehicles until repairs are completed.
The closure impacts individuals with Motor Vehicle Access Permits for People With Disabilities (MAPPWD). Nearby alternative locations with accessible features for outdoor recreation include Bluestone Wild Forest and Stewart State Forest.
The road is posted as closed with DEC signage. Non-motorized access is still allowed.
